Hand Lining for Mackerel - Gurdy Fishing - Fish Stripper

In spring 2007 AFW Fabrications were approached by Clive Baker a well known local Fisherman, with an idea to build him a Fish Stripper. Part of the idea was that it would be suitable to strip Mackerel, Cod and Squid in a controlled, environmentally friendly manner, as well as being lightweight and easy to handle. AFW fabrications have been manufacturing the U tube system from early 2008, and with the valued feedback from fishermen from all over the British isles we will continue to develop our products to meet their varied needs.
We would also like to offer our special thanks to Clive Baker and all his fishing colleagues in Torquay, Ken Turner from Plymouth, Mike Wright and Ed Russell (fairwater fishing) from Looe for there expert advice and input over the past years.
Sustainable fishing has now become the ‘In-method’ as the many fisheries around the UK have now been deemed suitable for hook and line, with bait or lures to catch fish. Line fishing is less damaging to the marine environment and fish caught command a better price at market
